Ear Wiggles and the Prophetic mantle

Ok, for those of you who got too wrapped up in waffle gorging and forgot to grill the Y chromosome carriers in your midst:

President Thomas Spencer Monson can wiggle his ears like a pro!

During his talk he spoke of a time, when sitting on the stand, he noticed a young boy in the congregation mimicking his every move. He would cross his legs to the left, the boy would mirror his movement. He would cross his legs to the right, the boy would mirror his movement...rest his head on his hand...well you get the picture. Pres. Monson then relates that he was going to pull out all the stops and see if the boy could measure up. Pres. Monson relates: "So then I wiggled my ears"; at which point Gods anointed wiggled his ears to such a degree surly it must be a divine gift -- for never has this author seen quite so wiggly a display.

A childhood friend Todd Woolgar could wiggle his ears, more an up and down movement of scalp and ears combined. A kid in college, I forget his name, could also isolate those odd little ear muscles and wag his auditory flaps to a small degree. While ear wiggling is always a little goofy it is rarely awe inspiring. I think the benchmark lies somewhere to the Monson side of nearly flapping the ear.

What added to the spectacle was that in attendance in the chapel we sat was a mentally handicapped man who laughed uproariously at the slightest provocation. When we in the audience laughed this man's bellicose laughter did not so quickly subside as our own which had the effect, you might guess, of keeping a trickle of laughter resounding far longer than one would have expected.
